About Rooted Education

Rooted Education is founded by Teala Amberg, M.Ed.

I am a wife, mom, Minnesota native, lover of the outdoors (unless it’s summer), special education teacher, inclusion advocate, and believer that all people are capable of doing great things when provided the appropriate supports.

I obtained my Bachelors in Integrated Elementary and Special Education as well as a certification in Educational Computing and Technology from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2015, my Masters of Education from Saint Mary’s University in 2018, and my Teacher Coordinator Work Based Learning certification from Saint Cloud State University in 2023. I was awarded K-6 Teacher of the Year in 2017. I currently serve on two panels as an educational representative for the State of Minnesota, including the Special Education Advisory Panel and the Person Centered Practices Panel.

As a mom of 2, I want our educational system to be the very best that it can be to provide the type of education that allows critical thinking, outside the box learning, and access to authentic learning opportunities. Sitting in a classroom in a chair is not where kids learn best, and I am working to provide tools and strategies to support all types of learners to have access to the most worthwhile education possible in whatever learning methods are available to them.
